God, Faith and the Heart of BOR Meats
Every business has a story, and the BOR Meats story is deeply rooted in faith, trust and purpose. Our journey begins with a calling that goes beyond just a business opportunity; it’s a response to divine guidance and a commitment to follow a path that feels truly meant to be.
Inspired by the story of Ruth in the Bible, where Ruth faithfully follows her mother-in-law Naomi despite the uncertainties of their journey, we feel a similar calling in our own lives. Just as Ruth’s story is one of dedication, trust and faith, we see parallels in our own journey as we venture into the world of specialty meat processing with BOR Meats.
The name “BOR Meats” is more than just a business name—it’s a tribute to this powerful story of faith and perseverance. “BOR” stands for “Book of Ruth,” symbolizing our dedication to following a path that aligns with our faith, values and beliefs. It represents our trust that with faith and determination, we can build something meaningful and lasting.
We are driven by a deep sense of purpose to provide high-quality, handcrafted meats that not only satisfy but also nourish our community. Our vision is to create a business that reflects our commitment to excellence, integrity and faith. At BOR Meats, every product we offer is crafted with care, inspired by our belief in divine provision and our desire to serve others with the same dedication and love that guided Ruth in her journey.
The story of Ruth’s love for Naomi is one of steadfast commitment, but it also reflects a profound devotion to God. Ruth’s actions demonstrate that by loving and committing to others, she was ultimately showing her love for and commitment to God, choosing loyalty and faith over convenience. In the same spirit, BOR Meats is born from a desire to serve our community with love and dedication. Just as Ruth poured her love into caring for Naomi, we pour our love into every product, every interaction, and every commitment we make to the community. Through this devotion, we honor God, believing that love shown through service is a reflection of our greater purpose.
In opening BOR Meats, we are embracing this calling with open hearts and trusting that our faith will guide us every step of the way. We invite you to join us on this journey and be a part of a story that is as meaningful as it is delicious.

Bryan McEldowney, Owner
Food has always been at the heart of my life. From the earliest days—like the time I “helped” my grandmother clean a quart of strawberries as a toddler (and ate every last one when she stepped away)—to manning the grill as the designated “firefighter” during my family’s annual Memorial Day barbecue, my connection to food has been lifelong and deeply rooted.

That passion grew over the years, especially in the early 2010s when my wife Anne and I, affectionately known to friends as “the McFeights” (a blend of my last name, McEldowney, and her maiden name, Feight), would gather with close friends for culinary adventures. What started as our own version of Iron Chef America slowly evolved into experimenting with new techniques—eventually leading us to make our own sausage.
Nearly a decade later, I felt a clear calling from God to turn that passion into something more. My family and friends had encouraged me for years, but it was in that moment I knew it was time to take the next step.
Today, BOR Meats is built on that foundation of faith, family, and tradition. I’m proud to serve the Adrian and Tecumseh communities—and all of Southeast Michigan—with handcrafted artisan sausages and specialty meat products.
This is more than food. It’s a labor of love, a connection to my roots, and a way to bring people together—one bite at a time.
